Summary:
Calling all passionate educators and future leaders! The University of Idaho, in partnership with the Ada County Extension Office, offers an exciting Summer Internship as a Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Community Instructor based in Boise, Idaho. This program allows you to gain valuable experience in developing and delivering educational programs on essential life skills for youth and adults within the community.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program (minimum 12 credits completed within the last year) and must be enrolled at one of the eight Idaho public universities or colleges (private Idaho institutions are not eligible). Priority will be given to University of Idaho students.
- Strong interest in Family and Consumer Sciences topics like health, nutrition, food safety, and consumer education.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills to engage diverse audiences.
- Ability to develop and deliver engaging presentations and workshops.
- Enthusiasm for teamwork and collaboration with Extension professionals and community partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, developing, and delivering educational programs related to FCS topics for youth and adults.
- Partner with 4-H to provide educational workshops and activities focused on healthy living and life skills development.
- Assist with promoting FCS programs through social media, print materials, and community events.
- Conduct research and compile data to assess program effectiveness and participant needs.
- Help maintain accurate records and complete required reporting for the FCS and 4-H programs.
