Responsibilities
- Assist with developing and implementing communication strategies for various VOACC programs
- Create engaging content for social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram)
- Support with crafting press releases, website copy, and other communication materials
- Assist with outreach events and volunteer recruitment initiatives.
- Conduct research and data analysis to measure the effectiveness of communication efforts.

Do you want to gain valuable experience in communications, marketing, and community outreach for a nonprofit organization?
Volunteers of America Chesapeake is seeking a motivated intern to join our team in Lanham, MD! In this 10-week, onsite internship, you’ll work alongside our Senior Manager of Corporate Partnerships and gain hands-on experience in a variety of areas:
- Event coordination: Plan and execute engaging community events.
- Social media management: Learn the best practices for using social media to promote a nonprofit cause.
- Content creation: Develop informative web and blog posts.
- Data analysis and reporting: Summarize data to create insightful reports.
- Communication and outreach: Connect with both internal and external stakeholders.
Is this you?
- Eager to learn and contribute to a meaningful mission.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
