Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field. (A passion for transportation is a plus!)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a knack for storytelling.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation tools (a plus).
- A curious mind with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Collaborative spirit with a positive and results-oriented attitude.
Responsibilities
- Assist with developing and executing public outreach campaigns for OCTA’s programs and projects.
- Create engaging content for various channels, such as press releases, social media posts, or website copy.
- Conduct research and compile data to support communication initiatives.
- Support with media relations activities and event planning (as applicable).
- Monitor and update media contact lists and internal calendars (as applicable).
- Participate in the development of presentations and other communication materials (as applicable).
