Fees:
- The program starts at an affordable rate, typically around $570 for a one-week experience (check IVHQ website for exact pricing).
- This fee is all-inclusive, covering airport pickup upon arrival in Rio de Janeiro, orientation, accommodation (often shared volunteer housing with other volunteers), daily breakfast, and 24/7 in-country support throughout your stay.
Volunteer Requirements:
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or older (family programs may also be available).
- Prior experience with children is beneficial but not mandatory. A passion for childcare, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn are crucial.
- Your tasks will primarily involve:
- Playing games and engaging in creative activities with the children
- Assisting with educational programs and learning initiatives
- Providing basic care routines as needed
- Creating a safe and supportive environment
- Potentially introducing basic English conversation (optional)
- Basic English communication skills are necessary. While Portuguese is the primary language in Brazil, some basic knowledge can be beneficial for interacting with local staff.
