  • This fee is all-inclusive, covering airport pickup upon arrival in Montego Bay, orientation, accommodation (often shared volunteer housing), meals (breakfast is common), and 24/7 in-country support throughout your stay.

Volunteer Requirements

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older (family programs may also be available).
  • Prior experience with children is beneficial but not mandatory. A passion for child development, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude are crucial.
  • Your tasks may involve assisting with educational activities, facilitating creative workshops, organizing games and sports, or simply providing emotional support and a positive role model for the children and youth.
  • Basic English communication skills are necessary. While additional language skills are not required, some knowledge of Jamaican Patois can be beneficial for cultural immersion and potentially even communication with children or families.
  • IVHQ may offer optional training or resources to prepare you for working with children and youth in a new cultural context.
