Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred, with some experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.
- Strong ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new skills quickly.
- Proficient in using hand tools and comfortable working in a shop environment.
- A basic understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems is beneficial.
- Strong work ethic with a commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Learn and assist with repair and maintenance of plant equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and electrical motors.
- Understand and follow lockout/tagout, confined space, and hot work permit procedures.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
- Utilize mechanical drawings and schematics to diagnose and repair equipment.
- Assist with installing, modifying, and updating equipment as needed.
- Document maintenance activities and repairs using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Participate in inventory management and assist with ordering parts.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects and learn about Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programs.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
