  • Airport pickup upon arrival in Rio de Janeiro
  • Orientation
  • Accommodation (often shared volunteer housing in a safe area)
  • Daily breakfast
  • 24/7 in-country support throughout your stay

Volunteer Requirements:

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older (family programs may also be available).
• Prior teaching experience is beneficial but not mandatory. Fluency in English and a passion for education are essential. A TEFL certificate (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) is a plus but not required by IVHQ.
• Your tasks may involve:
  • Developing and delivering engaging English language lessons for various age groups and skill levels
  • Creating a fun and interactive learning environment
  • Focusing on conversation, basic grammar, and vocabulary building
  • Potentially assisting with other subjects (depending on the program)
• Basic English communication skills are necessary, as you’ll be instructing in English. Portuguese is the primary language in Brazil, but some basic knowledge can help interact with local staff and potentially understand students’ questions in their native language.
