Education & Qualifications Requirements
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Experiences:
- A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the financial field is required. The minimum number of years of relevant experience is reduced to five (5) for candidates with a first-level university degree or higher.
- Having a minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in customer lending processes is required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in an International Organization is desirable.
Languages:
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
- For this position, fluency in both English and French is required.
Key Responsibilities Career:
Within delegated authority, the Benefits Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
Loan processes:
- Process the final verifications and checks of the housing and ordinary loan studies and, once validated, submitted them to the Chief Finance Officer and/or the Executive Secretary for approval;
- Verify that all required documents have been submitted by the applicant;
- Verifying the financial situation of the applicants and ensure the accuracy of the statements made by the applicants on the loan application forms;
- Audit the loan studies and ensure that all rules, regulations and procedures have been respected and applied during the processes;
- If necessary return the file to the staff member who made the study for corrections and, if needed, provide explanations on why and how to correct;
- Register the result of the loan study in the IT system;
- Provide applicants with the result of the loan study;
- Answer questions from applicants regarding the result provided or transfer them to the staff member who made the study for follow-up and/or modifications.
Monthly recovery processes:
- Prepare the monthly salary recoveries for loan repayments and savings and submit the information to the related payrolls;
- Control and manage the reconciliation between amounts received from payrolls and amounts requested;
- Handle any discrepancies that might result from a change in interest rate, a retirement, a separation from the organization, a transfer to another organization; a lack of repayments, etc.;
- Liaise with the Human Resources and Finance departments;
- Generate new loan documents such as contracts, amortization tables, loan statements and remit them to the members and organizations;
- In case of leave without pay or unpaid debt or separation from the organization handle the process with the member, the organization (HR and Finance unites), the insurance company, the debt collection agencies, etc.
