Volunteer Requirements
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or older (family programs may be available).
- Prior experience with animals is a plus, but a fervent passion for animal welfare, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude are essential qualities.
- Tasks may involve cleaning enclosures, feeding animals, and potentially even assisting with basic medical procedures under professional supervision. A moderate level of physical fitness is recommended for these activities.
- Basic English communication skills are necessary. While some Spanish language skills can be advantageous depending on the specific shelter, IVHQ may offer optional Spanish classes for volunteers who want to enhance their communication.
