Summary:

This assignment is for an Adolescent Development and Participation Project Officer in Bosnia and Herzegovina, working onsite for UNICEF. The officer will support the development and implementation of projects, monitor their progress, and build partnerships with government entities and stakeholders. The goal is to strengthen social cohesion, diversity, and trust among young people. The assignment aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 16 and involves a 12-month duration with the possibility of extension. The officer will also contribute to knowledge management, capacity building, and innovation within the program.

Location:

Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be a national or legal resident of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Social Sciences, Education, Law, Business Administration or similar, preferably with focus on peace and conflict studies, reconciliation, or human rights.
  • 3 years of experience in professional environment in the field of project support and management, monitoring and evaluation and other related fields within social-science oriented fields, preferably with focus on peace and conflict studies, reconciliation, or human rights, at the national and/or international level
  • Fluency in Bosnian, Serbian, Croatian and English
  • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills;
  • Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development;
  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel;
  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment;
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines
