Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program in accounting, finance, or a related field (e.g., business administration).
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- A willingness to learn and a desire to contribute to a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist accounting staff with data entry, month-end closing tasks, and reconciliations.
- Gain exposure to accounting principles and financial reporting practices within the construction industry.
- Learn and potentially assist with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance procedures.
- Contribute to research projects and data analysis initiatives within the finance department.
- Develop and maintain strong interpersonal skills by collaborating with colleagues across different departments (optional).
