Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program in accounting, finance, or a related field (e.g., business administration).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • A willingness to learn and a desire to contribute to a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist accounting staff with data entry, month-end closing tasks, and reconciliations.
  • Gain exposure to accounting principles and financial reporting practices within the construction industry.
  • Learn and potentially assist with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance procedures.
  • Contribute to research projects and data analysis initiatives within the finance department.
