Applications are now open for the 2025 Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity Program. The Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity (AFHE) program is dedicated to training those leaders – individuals who will have health equity as their mindset and health disparities reduction as their explicit skillset.

Timeline:

January 2025: Program Launch and Initial Convening
February -May 2025: Semester 1 Online Learning
June 2025: Mid-Year Convening
July – October 2025: Semester 2 Online Learning
November 2025: Final Convening

Requirements:

  • The fellowship lasts for a full year.
  • Throughout the year, there are in-person gatherings known as convenings that comprise five weeks of projected time commitment.
  • Full-time, off-site engagements that occur around the globe are known as convenings.
  • The faculty of the AFHE program teaches an online curriculum in between meetings.
  • These 90-minute online courses are offered every two weeks.
  • A monthly time commitment of 12 to 16 hours is required for self-directed learning.
  • Among the self-directed learning activities include finishing the assigned texts, films, and program materials.
  • Assignments may be connected to your personal project, to introspection, or to program assessment.
  • For the program to be completed successfully, attendance and participation in both in-person and online coursework are necessary.
  • Fellows must be in the early to mid-stages of their careers, have a desire to lead with more effectiveness, and collaborate with others to impact change.
  • Fellows ought to be working in leadership positions in the health sector at the moment, or in positions where leadership is possible.

Advantages:

  • For this program, there is no stipend provided to fellows.
  • It is anticipated that they will continue working during the fellowship in order to apply the skills they learn about leadership in practical settings.
  • Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity covers all educational opportunities and travel costs associated with this fellowship, including in-person meetings.

Application Conditions:

(1) A succinct (no more than 500 words) statement outlining your motivations for wanting to be a fellow, together with a rundown of your main assets and distinctive qualities as a person and a leader.
(2) a project plan for health equity that you hope to finish in the fellowship year
(3) your résumé or curriculum vitae.
(4) two recommendation letters.
(5) an employer support form filled out by a direct supervisory employee who is prepared to act as an advisor and guide you in your pursuit of change leadership for health justice.
