Women’s Empowerment in Journalism

Summary:
This grant program, funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs (SCA) through the U.S. Mission to Pakistan, aims to increase the number and visibility of qualified women journalists and reporters in Pakistan, particularly in Sindh and Balochistan provinces. It supports projects that focus on professional training, mentorship, and creating a support network for women journalists.

Eligibility:

• Open to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), academic institutions, and private sector entities registered in Pakistan.
• Project proposals must:
  • Focus on Sindh and Balochistan provinces.
  • Include activities for professional development of women journalists, such as training workshops, conferences, and mentorship programs.
  • Create or strengthen a support network for women journalists to share resources, experiences, and best practices.
  • Demonstrate a clear plan for monitoring and evaluation of the project’s impact.
