Funding for African Entrepreneurs

Summary:

The Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme 2024 is a 10-year initiative with a $100 million commitment to empowering 10,000 African entrepreneurs. This program is open to entrepreneurs from all 54 African countries, whether they have new or existing businesses that are less than 3 years old, regardless of the industry. The program offers business training, mentoring, a non-refundable seed capital of $5,000, and access to additional funding opportunities and networks. Its primary goal is to generate numerous job opportunities and revenue for sustainable development in Africa. The program follows the principles of Africapitalism, which recognizes the private sector as the driving force behind economic growth and the creation of social wealth.

Eligibility:

You can apply if you meet these criteria:

    • You are a citizen or legal resident of any one of the 54 African countries.
    • You have a business idea or an existing business of less than 3 years old, in any sector and any country in Africa.
    • You have not received research funding of $5,000 or more in your own name before.
    • You have a clear business plan and a realistic budget for your project.
    • You have the appropriate insurance and ethical approval for your project.
