Computer and Information Science and Engineering Research Expansion Program (CISE MSI) Grant
Summary:
The CISE MSI (Minority Serving Institutions) Grant is provided by the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) in order to increase research capacity building at Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) and hence increase involvement in CISE research. In order to improve future competitiveness in obtaining core CISE programs, grants assist initiatives that concentrate on fundamental CISE research and/or infrastructure development.

Eligibility:
- Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs), Alaska Native-Serving Institutions (ANSIs), and Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions (AANAPISIs).
- Institutions must be located in the U.S. or its territories.
- Projects must directly benefit and involve MSI faculty, researchers, and students.
Benefits:
- Grants typically range from $400,000 to $700,000 over a period of three to five years.

- Conducting innovative CISE research projects.
- Hiring faculty and researchers.
- Acquiring research equipment and infrastructure.
- Developing sustainable research programs and partnerships.
- Providing research training and mentoring for students.
