Description:
This grant is for students who want to pursue a research degree in Human Origins. It is funded by The Leakey Foundation and is open to all nationals. The grant covers full funding, up to USD 30,000. The application deadline is 15 Jul 2024.
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for this grant, you must:
- Be an advanced doctoral student or an established scientist.
- Be fluent in English.
- Be from any nationality.
- NOT be in high school or an undergraduate college student.
Grant value
The grant provides funding for research on human origins only. The Leakey Foundation prioritizes funding for the exploratory stages of innovative research projects that align with the Foundation’s goals and have potential. Most of the research grants from The Leakey Foundation given to doctoral students range from $3,000 to $15,000, with a maximum of $20,000. Larger awards of up to $30,000 may be available for senior scientists and post-doctoral researchers. The funding limits have been increased to $20,000 for PhD students and $30,000 for post-doctoral researchers and senior scientists starting in May 2022.
