ESCWA provides a framework for the formulation and harmonisation of sectoral policies for member countries, a platform for congress and coordination, a home for expertise and knowledge, and an information observatory.
What you’ll bring to the table:
- Digital publishing technologies, including draft typing, copy editing, proof-reading and typographical layout or related area is required.
- The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to eight 8 years for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher.
- At least three 3 years of experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
- At least three 3 years of experience in translation support is desirable.
- At least two 2 years of experience in text alignment using translation memory is desirable.
- At least one 1 year of experience in copy-preparation and text comparison is desirable.
- At least one 1 year of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable
Language skills:
Fluent written and spoken English is required
What you’ll do:
- Taking responsibility for and oversees the work of the team with respect to the timely production of official documentation, supplements and publications.
- Screening documentation, supplements and publications submitted through the electronic workflow for production in order to ensure compliance with submission standards and regulations.
- Overseeing programming of work unit; distributes assignments, ensuring efficient and effective processing of documentation and an equitable distribution of work.
- Performing administrative and coordination work, including the maintenance of daily statistics.
- Supervising the staff by identifying and resolving issues, monitoring staff performance, participating in and overseeing staff training. Completes Performance Evaluations) for supervised staff.
- Confering and collaborates with other units in order to maximize resources; this includes identifying statistical charts, diagrams and organigrams for utilization by other units.
