What is Stimulant Use Disorder?
StUD is a serious addiction to stimulant drugs, such as cocaine, methamphetamine, and Adderall. There are currently no FDA-approved medications to treat StUD.
What is Neuromodulation?
Neuromodulation uses different techniques to stimulate or change the activity of brain cells. This announcement is interested in exploring the use of neuromodulation techniques, such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) or transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), in combination with behavioral therapy for StUD treatment.
Why is this research important?
This research could lead to new and more effective treatments for people with StUD, especially those who are at high risk of relapse.
