The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through CMS, is launching the Transforming Maternal Health (TMaH) Model. This 10-year program aims to improve birthing experiences and health outcomes for women enrolled in Medicaid and CHIP.
Who can apply?
- State Medicaid Agencies (SMAs) from all 50 states, D.C., and U.S. territories.

- TMaH is a voluntary program testing a new approach to pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), is launching a groundbreaking initiative – the Transforming Maternal Health (TMaH) Model. This 10-year program offers financial support and technical assistance to state Medicaid Agencies (SMAs) to improve birthing experiences and health outcomes for women enrolled in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
