Library – Teen Internship

Calling all bookworms and tech enthusiasts! Ignite your love for libraries and gain valuable experience with the Salem Public Library’s Teen Summer Internship. You’ll work alongside passionate library staff in the vibrant Teen Scene area, contributing to programs and initiatives that engage young adults throughout the summer.

Qualifications:

• Teenager entering 11th or 12th grade (generally ages 16-18)
• An avid reader with a passion for promoting literacy among teens
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
• Basic computer and internet literacy
• Creative and enthusiastic with a desire to develop engaging programs

Responsibilities:

• Assist with planning and implementing summer events and activities for teens
• Help promote the library’s resources and services to young adults
• Create engaging displays and social media content for the Teen Scene area
• Assist library staff with customer service tasks (shelving, answering basic inquiries)
• Participate in professional development opportunities offered by the library
