Are you passionate about using data to tackle global challenges? Do you have expertise in climate change or environmental science? If so, we want you on our team!

The United Nations is seeking a talented Climate Data Analyst to join our team working on climate resilience.

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Master’s degree in public administration/governance/political science, or a relevant field like climate science, environmental policy, or soil science
  • OR a university degree in political science or development economics with relevant experience
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using data to inform decision-making
  • Experience with project management and information management
  • Proficiency in database management and programming languages like SQL and Python
  • Experience using version control tools like Git
  • Experience working with the United Nations system is a plus

Language skills:

  • Fluent written and spoken English is required
  • Knowledge of another UN language (French, German, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish) is a plus

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve data analytics processes and ensure high-quality execution of data projects
  • Design and implement databases and data collection systems to optimize data quality and efficiency
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify data needs and support data-driven projects related to climate resilience
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and other tools to effectively communicate findings to management
