A social cooperative called Istituto Walden oversees a variety of residences and services for underage residents on the island of Sicily. In order to assist the educators in a shelter for young boys (ages 13 to 18) who are pursuing rehabilitation and social inclusion, they are seeking ESC volunteers. The volunteers will share a portion of their everyday lives with the children who reside in the shelter as a community. Tasks: Provide entertaining and interesting workshops in the areas of food, theater, and music; support children’s education by offering after-school programs (homework help, foreign language classes, educational workshops, etc.). Interaction in languages planning of holidays and unique occasions Handle day-to-day affairs in the neighborhood.
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
On-Arrival trainings with Associazione Joint, the coordinating organization and the Italian National Agency. Italian online course. Specific training is needed for project activities. Mid-term evaluation and final evaluation with Associazione Joint.
PARTICIPANT PROFILE
Available for the WHOLE project: May–August 2024 • ready to work with young people (boys 13–18 years old) that come from different social backgrounds; • has studies or experience in social work or psychology; • has a strong respect for the rules; • is patient and creative; • is communicative and open-minded; • is positive and proactive; • is adaptable; • is able to cooperate with educators; • is ready to take responsibility; • can plan, organize, and manage activities; • is ready to live in a small town;. We expect your CV and motivation to be in English! (aged between 24 and 30 years old)
