Description:
As an intern in the Silicon Engineering team, you will be involved in the design and development of the hardware, software, and networking technologies that are crucial to powering Google’s services. Your responsibilities will encompass designing and constructing computing infrastructure systems, spanning from circuit design to large-scale system design. You will have the opportunity to witness the entire lifecycle of these systems, from conception to high-volume manufacturing. The impact of your work extends to the machinery used in data centers, ultimately affecting the experience of Google users. Throughout your internship, you will have the chance to contribute to various teams within this domain.

Minimum Requirements:
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Completed academic coursework focusing on computer architecture, including topics such as core design, cache systems, and memory.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ or RTL (Register Transfer Level).
Preferred qualifications:
- Practical experience in the design, implementation, or validation of RTL designs, including areas such as core design, cache systems, fabric, memory, codecs, etc.
- Familiarity with the SoC (System-on-Chip) development environment.
- Understanding of operating systems (OS), firmware, or software stack.
- Proficiency in performance or power architecture, including power estimation, modeling, or optimization of processors or ASICs.
- Strong skills in scripting languages, as well as proficiency in C/C++ programming and software design.
