Design and user experience (UX) are fundamental pillars of Google’s work. As an aspiring Designer in this internship, your role is to envision and bring to life the user experience of our products. Your objective is to create designs that are inspired, refined, and even enchanting. In this internship, you will focus on addressing complex tasks and transforming them into intuitive, accessible, and user-friendly solutions that cater to a global audience. Whether it’s catering to first-time users or seasoned experts, you aim to deliver an exceptional user experience.
To accomplish this, you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with teams of Designers, Researchers, Engineers, and Product Managers throughout the design process, including during an internship. This collaborative effort involves creating user flows and wireframes, as well as building user interface mockups and prototypes. At every stage, you will proactively anticipate user needs, advocate for them, and ensure that the final product not only surprises but also delights users.
Minimum Requirements:
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or a related field.
- Practical experience or equivalent qualifications are also considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Designers, Researchers, Engineers, Content Strategists, and Product Managers, throughout the entire design process.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present conceptual ideas and design rationale.
- Strong skills in project management, communication, and organization.
- A portfolio showcasing projects that highlight digital interfaces and are consumer focused.
