Key strategies for the implementation of the country program include capacity building, advocacy, gender mainstreaming, evidence, information and data collection, as well as the use of media to highlight and inform the general population of Sudan.

Education & Qualifications Requirements:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in either Political or Social Science, Climate and Disaster Risk Reduction, Economics, International Development Studies, Gender/Women’s Studies.
  • A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • A project/programme management certification (such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP®) would be an added advantage.

Work Experiences: 

  • At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience at the national or international level in monitoring and reporting of development projects/ programmes;
  • Experience within the United Nations systems in desirable;
  • Field experience is desirable;
  • Experience in gender equality and women empowerment is desirable;
  • Work experience in Asia and the Pacific is desirable.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English with excellent writing skills.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language is desirable (French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish).

Career Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and refining of the monitoring strategy and plan,  and provide support in setting up monitoring system based on the programme document.
  • Facilitate and substantively contribute to the incorporation of monitoring and reporting in the regional level work.
  •  Contribute substantively to and provide technical support for the monitoring and tracking of results for country level work.
  •  Provide technical support to the Humanitarian/DRR/Climate Unit in the implementation the UN Women Evaluation Policy.
  • Contribute to knowledge building and capacity building.
  • The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.
